Donna Jo's spring trip to Alaska.

The trip begins on a snow covered Icefields Parkway.
Themountains are familiar!

We pass through densely wooded mountains and foothills as we travel from Prince George to Prince Rupert. A stop to paint at a beautifulspot- Telegraph Point- just before reaching Prince Rupert.

As`we pass Jasper, it begins toclear and I stop for a sketch at Mt. Robson- highest mountain in theCanadian Rockies.

This is it! Our lovely "berth" on the Alaska Marine Ferry as we get ready to travel the Inside Passage to Alaska. My son,Clay, will be going to work again for Alaska Heli- Mush as a guide.

Our first stop on the Inside Passage is Ketchikan, Alaska. This is "Creek Street"-former "houses of ill-repute"...personally, I like the colours!

Apparently, we`are lucky and have wonderful sunny weather for the entire 2 day trip. The views are spectacular of snow capped mountains rising from the water.

As soon as we arrive in Juneau we go to the Mendenhall Glacier. It's early in the season so there is a lot of snow on the Glacier, and there is supposed to be a lake just below me.

The MV TAKU, My Alaska Marine ferry on the Inside Passage for both trips.

A stop at Petersburg, along with Kake and the Wrangell Narrows, one of the places only small boats visit.

There is time to get off the ferry and have a look around Petersburg.

Wrangell Narrows – where you can almost touch the land on both sides.

I guess every trip has to have a glitch – mine happened when the bus broke down for an hour and a half between Prince Rupert and Prince George.

A stop in Jasper – back in the mountains.
